Bria Bloom is a born and raised unschooler. Her experience in directing her own education persuaded her to become an advocate for Self-Directed Education (SDE), youth liberation, and partnership-based parenting. She is an unschooling mom; a writer; a video creator; a facilitator and founder of PDX Flying Squads, a community for self-directed young people in Portland, OR; and co-founder of the Flying Squads Network.
Bria is the Executive Director for The Alliance for Self-Directed Education. She manages communication, volunteers, community-building, content creation, and strategic planning; and leads specific ASDE initiatives such as the SDE Efforts.
Bria designed her own undergrad degree, and has an M.S. in Early Childhood and Inclusive Education.
